(CEP USM, 2025)

Thermostability of peroxidase in leaves of Buxus sempervirens L. under the influence of hyperthermic shock [Articol]
(CEP USM, 2025) Cauș, Maria; Platcovschii, Nicolai
The aim of this study was to investigate the thermal stability of total activity and peroxidase (PO) isoenzymes isolated from boxwood Buxus sempervirens (L.) leaves subjected to hyperthermic shock (HTS) at temperatures in the range of 53-90°C for 5 min. It was demonstrated that PO in leaves exposed to HTS of 53°C, 55°C and 57°C exhibits high resistance to these temperatures, the activity being at the level of the control. Although, the total activity and intensities of PO isoenzymes distributed in 4 zones in a vertical gradient (4-7%) of polyacrylamide gel (PAAG) gradually decreased with increasing HTS of temperatures above 58°C. However, treatment of leaves with HTS at 90°C for 5 min resulted in complete suppression of PO, the activity of which was not detected.

(CEP USM, 2024-10-07) Gîscă, Alina; Popovici, Ana; Svetlicenco, Valentina
Vegetative growth and photosynthesis are the mainstaies of plant vitality, productivity and resilience. Over the course of four years, during the vegetation period, the functionality of the photosynthetic apparatus and the activity of the enzymes peroxidase, polyphenoloxidase and catalase were determined in ontogeny in the leaves of four late varieties of plum. Resulting from the average activity of the enzymes investigated in part, we obtained that it changed differently depending on the environmental conditions, high temperatures, genotype, tree treatments, as well as the differentiated role of each enzyme in the metabolic processes that took place in certain phenophases in the leaves of plum trees of the researched varieties. In all varieties, there were higher values in the version treated with SBA Reglalg and microelements Br, Zn, Mn and Mo. The President variety had higher peroxidase values, Stanley and President varieties of polyphenoloxidase, and Stanley variety of catalase.

ACTIVITATEA CATALAZEI, PEROXIDAZEI ȘI PEROXIDĂRII LIPIDELOR ÎN RĂDĂCINILE PORUMBULUI SUB INFLUENȚA ȘOCULUI TERMIC ȘI A PREPARATLUI REGLALG
(CEP USM, 2023) Cauș, Maria; Dascaliuc, A.; Borozan, P.
In recent years, due to the climate changes, the growth and development of corn is affected by heat stress, especially at an early stage of ontogeny. Influence of biostimulant Reglalg, used for seed pretreatment of maize hybrids Por. 310 and Por. 374 before exposure to heat shock (HS) at 50°C for 30 min, on catalase (CAT), peroxidase (PO), and lipid peroxidation (LPO) of root seedlings was studied. Compared to the Reglalg variants, root growth of control seedlings was more strongly affected by HS, since the activity levels of CAT, PO and MDA content in the roots were higher. This demonstrates the beneficial effects of Reglalg in increasing maize tolerance to HS.

(CEP USM, 2024)
Native electrophoresis was used to study changes in the composition and relative content of peroxidase isoforms in the leaves of 4 tomato varieties under the influence of water and thermal stresses in the offspring of plants infected with viral agents (tobacco mosaic virus, TMV and tomato aspermia virus, VAT). Under the stress conditions no additional zones of peroxidase iso forms were detected in the electrophoretic spectra. However, changes in the intensity of certain peroxidase zones were noted. Tomato genotypes Jacota and S. pimpinellifolium demonstrated the most significant increase in peroxidase activity, which was reflected in an increase of the intensity of isoforms zones with average molecular weight under conditions of temperature and water stress. In the progeny of tomato plants infected with TMV and BAT, the aftereffect of the viral infection was accompanied by an increase in peroxidase activity of isoform zones with average molecular weight in susceptible varieties (Jacota, Mary Gratefully), whereas in the progeny of infected tomato variety Rufina, which carries resistance genes to TMV, and in the wild variety S. pimpinellifolium, zones with low molecular weight are increased.
