REPERE ALE FILOSOFIEI EXISTENȚIALISTE ÎN LITERATURA ENGLEZĂ ȘI GERMANĂ DE LA MIJLOCUL SECOLULUI XX

Abstract

The article aims to investigate interpretations of existentialist theme (including: the absurd as metaphysical status of man in the world, the alienation, the revolt as a position assumed by the person who has discovered the absurd, the conception of freedom, the „other one’s” identity, the importance of choice, the situation-limit, the responsibility etc.) in the English and German literature of the second half of the twentieth century. This choice is motivated by the fact that unlike the existentialist philosophy manifestations in the French literature, that have enjoyed the literary criticism increased interest, the English and German literature ones still offer a vast space of research.
