AMBIVALENȚA TRANSLATORULUI CA PROTAGONIST ÎN PROZA CONTEMPORANĂ

Abstract

Translatorii și profesiile conexe au intrat în literatură de mult, fiind inițial, de regulă, personaje secundare. La sfârșitul secolului al XX-lea și începutul sec. al XXI-lea ei devin tot mai des protagoniști ai operelor literare, apărând în diverse roluri și ipostaze. Articolul se axează pe poziția ambivalentă, inerentă acestei profesii, dar și pe aspecte noi ale activității de traducător/interpret, reflectate în proza contemporană, în baza romanului „Daniel Stein, traducător” de L. Ulițkaia.Translators and interpreters have long entered the literature, being initially, as a rule, secondary characters. At the end of the twentieth century and the beginning of the twenty-first century, they became more and more often protagonists of literary works, appearing in various roles and situations. The study focuses on the ambivalent position inherent in this profession, but also on new aspects of the activity of interpreters, reflected in contemporary prose, based on the novel „Daniel Stein, interpreter” of L. Ulitskaya.
