Abstract
In the context of this presentation, we defend the idea that the lexicon is the most
variable in the language and the neologisms are intended to serve a communicative
purpose. This article addresses the following objectives: 1. Identify the two key concepts,
those of neology and neologism, their typology; 2. Make an incursion into the field of
lexicography which is fundamental in the work on neology.
