Abstract

Funcția poetică a limbajului – responsabilă cu structurarea lumii de sensuri – nu e niciodată independentă de funcția expresivă, care ordonează expresia conținutului. Dacă sintaxa e o facultate a sufletului (Paul Valéry), în „Grădina de sticlă” topica e o artă a rezistenței. Oricât de tăioasă și dură, reordonată sintactic, ordinea lumii are parte de o absolvire, de o izbăvire estetică. In a literary text, the poetic function of language to organise and validate messages – responsible for giving structure to the world of meanings – is never independent from the emotional function; it is an expressive reflex, in other words it guides the expression of the content. If ‘syntax is a faculty of the soul’ (Paul Valéry), then the structure of “Grădina de sticlă” is the art of resistance. No matter how sharp and tough the phrases, when rearranged syntactically, the order of things finds an aesthetic resolution and absolution.
