The growth in interest in studies of intercultural communication in recent years has led, on the one hand, to an increasing number of projects focusing on the examination on communication between speakers from different cultural backgrounds in various contexts and across different channels. On the other hand, a number of scholars have, at the theoretical level, reexamined the very basic notions of “language”, “culture”, and “inter-culture”, the main concept in studies of intercultural communication, from various perspectives. The contribution of this article represents this spectrum, beginning with theoretical background, moving on to exploring the interplay between intercultural communication and new technologies, and finally examining intercultural communication across different contexts.Item SOME PECULIARITIES OF LEXICOGRAPHICAL SOURCE ENTRIES(CEP USM, 2014) Corcodel, SvetlanaIn most dictionaries and manuals lexicography is defined as “the writing and making of dictionaries”. This definition implies that lexicography is concerned mainly with the principles underlying the making of dictionaries. This is quite true; lexicography does consider the prob lems and principles a lexicographer is faced with when he sits down to make a new dictionary. This huge product of lexicographic activity has become an object of consideration too, and it also falls within the scope of lexicography. To develop a full awareness of the problems in exicography and the ways to their solution, a scholar is advised to get acquainted first with the exicographic legacy he has come into and secondly, that it presents a clear-cut field of human innterest.Item ON THE SPECIALIZED LANG UAGE OF ECONOMIC FIELD(CEP USM, 2014) Corcodel, Dan; Corcodel, ArturThis paper is a comprehensive analysis of economic terminology. At the same time, we emphasize the publicistic language’s major importance in actuality, its spectacular evolution, with the new nuances it adopts, as well as the less agreeable aspects linke d to some of this type of language’s functions, which are related to the reader, the listener or he viewer’s manipulation. All the modern inflections of the media text (the oligarchization, the eminization or the computerization) offer it original postmodern nuances, which overlap somegeneral tendencies in all the human activity’s domains. On the other hand, this anguage’s complexity, through the referential, conative and phatic functions, offers the advantage of choice from an immensity of intellectual emanation’s acceptable versions, becoming a global center of storage and transfer of humanity’s vital and creative otential.
