Item CONCEPTUL LINGVO-CULTURAL AL DRAGOSTEI ÎN PROVERBELE ENGLEZE, ROMÂNE ŞI RUSE(CEP USM, 2014) Lifari, VioricaItem CONCEPTUL EMOTIV AL TEXTULUI(CEP USM, 2018) Lifari, VioricaEmotivitatea este o componentă integrală a textului. Item TABLOUL LINGVO-CULTURAL AL EMOTIILOR EXPRIMATE DE ENGLEZI LA FUNERALII(Academia de Administrare Publică, 2016) Lifari, VioricaItem ADVERBELE CU SEMELE DE [+PASIVITATE] ŞI [+RECIPROCITATE] CU VALENŢĂ SUBIECTIV-OBIECTIVĂ(CEP USM, 2007) Lifari, VioricaThe adverb is the part of speech that can render the meaning of voice. These are as a rule those words that are formed from verbs via adjectives. The semantics of these words as introductory ones is of special interest as they give the utterance a particular content in which the author expresses his/her idea about what is being said. The adverbs denote the meanings of the passive, reciprocal and reflexive voices. The adverbs denoting reciprocal meaning are bivalent on both levels, semantic and syntactic, in comparison with those that render passivity and do not have their subjective valency expressed syntactically.Sometimes the two meanings of voice passive and reciprocal overlap. Alongside the meaning of voice the adverb expresses the meaning of modality.Item FORMA ACTIVĂ A VERBULUI ŞI SEMNIFICAŢIA DIATEZIALĂ ÎN LIMBA ENGLEZĂ(CEP USM, 2007) Lifari, VioricaThe topic of the article under discussion is the active form of the verb in correlation with the meaning of voice. The English language is specific in this respect as there are cases when the active form of the verb does not indicate active voice. The meaning of voice depends on the meaning of the verb as a lexical unit because its grammatical marker is „zero”. Depending on the type of the verb, the meaning of the utterance can be active, passive, reflexive and reciprocal. Besides the lexical meaning of the verb one should take into consideration the type of the noun in the syntactical function of the grammatical subject. If it is animate, we understand that the voice is acive, if it is inanimate the conclusion we should come to is that the meaning of the voice is passive, as a thing cannot be the Agent of the action.Item PROBLEME ACTUALE DE LINGVISTICĂ: MATERIALELE SIMPOZIONULUI ȘTTINȚIFIC CU PARTICIPARE INTERNAȚIONALĂ: ÎN MEMORIAM ACAD. A part of them thought that the dominant function of the language is the cognitive one thus excluding the possibility of researching the emotional component of the language. In the late 70s of the previous century emotiology as the direction in linguistics began to appear. Many professors such as V. V. Shakhovsky, A. Wierzbicka, T. V. Larina dealt in the field of emotiology and studied the expression of emotions in cross-cultural communication. Some of them state that emotions are universal and can be identified in every country, others conclude that the lack of the term denoting a certain emotion in a certain language speaks about the fact that cultures differ emotionally. In this study we try to identify the terminology used in a research of this kind and clarify whether emotions are culturally dependent or not. The working languages are English, Romanian and Russian and their corresponding cultures – English, Moldovan and Russian.Item EFECTUL PRAGMATIC AL DIMINUTIVELOR ÎNTR-UN DISCURS(Universitatea Liberă Internaţională din Moldova, 2014) Lifari, VioricaA universal aspect of diminutives is their pragmatic use for softening a speech act. This function is not strictly limited to morphological diminutives but in principle works for any linguistic element that conveys a notion of ‘smallness.’ A straightforward example is when a person asks for a favour of some kind: the chance that the request will be granted increases if the favour is presented as insignificant. Diminutives are frequent in situations with children, in the language of love and in speech directed to pets, and more generally, in situations exhibiting the features ‘non serious’, ‘empathy’, ‘sympathy’, ‘familiarity’ or ‘intimacy’. With the diminutive we express our affection or contempt. When it is suggested that women use diminutives more often than men, social factors are mentioned as an explanation: women are considered to be more contact-oriented than men, to select friends on the basis of personal experience, and to attach only secondary importance to motives such as status or professional interest.Item A CULTURAL APPROACH TO MALE-FEMALE DIFFERENCES IN COMMUNICATION(CEP USM, 2012) Lifari, VioricaThis work is an attempt to determine and analyse the differences in the speaking patterns of men and women in cross-sex and cross- ethnic communication. This topic is widely discussed nowadays as the women and men attempt to interact as equals in cross-sex conversations but they do not play the same roles in interaction. Historically men and women have different experiences and operate in different social contexts thus developing different genres of speech. At the same time women’s speeches are considered to be more emotional while men’s ones more rational. This study has a challenging character as it not only implies cross-sex conversations but it also goes further to the level of cross-ethnic dialogue. The research data include friendly dialogues between Moldovans, Russians, English and Turkish people.Item METODE DE CERCETARE A CONCEPTELOR DIN PERSPECTIVA LINGVISTICII COGNITIVE(2017) Lifari, VioricaModern linguists consider that the science about the language is concentrated onto two main perspectives: the functional linguistics and the cognitive linguistics. The two perspectives combine when we conduct a contrastive research of various languages. The linguists dealing in functional linguistics define the language as a functional system of the means of their expression, the mechanism of which has a particular purposefulness in the field of cognition and its description while the adherents of cognitive linguistics look at the language as at an instrument of cognition(perception) oriented to code and transform the information. The purposefulness of cognitive linguistics is concerned with the correlation between the language and conscience, the conceptualization and the dissociation of the world by means of the language in the process of cognition. A contrastive study demonstrates multiple possibilities to express similar cognitive meanings and communicative functions. The common aspect of the languages manifested by variety is the axis of the contrastive studies and by using this method we combine approaches from the two perspectives of linguistics. In the given paper we are interested in the research conducted by the adherents of cognitive linguistics, the methods they use in conducting cross-cultural studies which imply contrastive analysis and the conclusions concerning the quality of the applied methodology this being a weaker side of the new domain of studies according to the point of view of many linguists that represent functional linguistics perspective.
