The present article reflects the fundamental theses connected with text linguistics
and translation techniques which are derived from the main postulates formulated by Eugeniu Coúeriu through the triad: signification > designation > sense.
On the basis of this theory some samples of the literary translation of Miguel
Cervantes's novel “Don Quijote” into Romanian were analyzed and specified.
