Educating a valuable personality is the major purpose of education, which is achieved by transmitting and receiving values, by forming attitudes and beliefs of respecting values. Pentru a fundamenta rolul valorilor în calitatea acestora de repere ale procesului educaţional, vom evoca câteva puncte de vedere ale unor filosofi şi pedagogi.Item CONSIDERENTE PRIVIND ABORDAREA SOCIOLOGICĂ A VALORII(CEP USM, 2016-03-12) Gîncu, IrinaThe article deals with the concept of value and its development and evolution in sociology. The appearance of this concept is due to the processes characteristic to the modern society: globalization, industrialization, social progress, community development. The author exposes the evolution of morality, the values on which it relies from the point of view of different researchers: functionalists, rationalists, philosophers, psychologists and artists. The main issues developed in the text relate to the origin of values, their sources, value development and internalization, the relation between morality and value, the role the values play in the process of socialization. The conclusion leads to the idea that the study of value has a prospective dimension, as it is based on predicting human behavior and anticipation of value conflicts.Item LANGUAGES' CONTRIBUTION TO INTERCULTURAL EDUCATION IN TEACHER TRAINING(Print-Caro, 2021) Gîncu, IrinaThe development of intercultural competences becomes one of the main objective of the teacher training programmes. Students enrolled at teacher training programmes become the agents for sharing European values, for reacting thoughtfully when they deal with otherness and for promoting cultures across Europe. Knowledge of languages is not only beneficial for work, travel or sharing information. The purpose of the study is to establish a relationship between foreign languages, the intercultural competence and the practical response of educational programmes to building the intercultural competence. The article also suggests examples of intercultural practical activities designed for different language levels.Item FORMAREA ORIENTĂRILOR VALORICE LA FACULTATEA DE LIMBI ŞI LITERATURI STRĂINE(CEP USM, 2008) Gîncu, IrinaThe purpose of this article is to givea survey of teaching values at the Department of foreign languages. There are shown the reasons why many teachers do notteach values and there are proposed several strategies for teaching values. The development of cultural understanding while teaching a foreign language may serve as a background for successful language learning.
