Item Evaluation of new hybrids of Salvia Sclarea L., with high essential oil content [Articol](Editura USM, 2025) Cotelea, Ludmila; Balmuș, Zinaida; Butnaraș, VioletaThe importance of the species Salvia sclarea L., its multiple uses, have stimulated genetic and breeding work to create new hybrids with high essential oil content, resistant to drought, frost and wintering. The biological material used is 33 F2 hybrids, simple, triple, double, stepped, complex, in the first, and second year of vegetation. The evaluated hybrids are distinguished by high height, long, compact inflorescences, due to the large number of branches (40 – 52) of the first (12.6 – 17.8) and second (22.4 – 35.6) order of the inflorescence. Determination of the essential oil content has shown that 72.7% of the evaluated hybrids have accumulated an essential oil content greater than 1,000%. In the first year of vegetation, the oil content recorded values ranging from 0.924 – 1.992%, and in the second year, 0.745 – 1.761%. 8 F2 hybrids with very high essential oil content of 1.409–1.761% were selected. The simple hybrid [AP115-11 S4 x AP 112-11 S4]F2 was highlighted for this character, with 1.587% in the first year and 1.761% essential oil recalculated to dry matter, in the second year of vegetation.Item Aprecierea materialului inițial de ameliorare de salvie la indicii cantitativi ai uleiului esenţial(CEP USM, 2024) Cotelea, Ludmila; Balmuş, Zinaida; Butnaraş, VioletaAs a result of the evaluation of the initial breeding material for the quantitative indices of the essential oil, it was demonstrated that 72.5% of the number of evaluated hybrids synthesized, accumulated more than 1.0% essential oil recalculated to the dry matter; 21.6% of these hybrids demonstrated high essential oil content – 1.4-2.7% (dry matter). Exceptional were 2 simple hybrids, (Cr.p. 99 S13 x AP 52-11 S3)F2 and (AP 49-11 S3 x NC 61-11 S3)F2 with 2.611 and 2.703%. The initial improvement material, with a high content of essential oil, will be used in the development of new varieties of hybrid origin.Item HIBRIZI F1 DE SALVIA SCLAREA L., SIMPLI, TRIPLI ȘI DUBLI, CU CONȚINUT ÎNALT DE ULEI ESENȚIAL(CEP USM, 2024) Cotelea, Ludmila; Balmuş, Zinaida; Butnaraş, Violeta25 single, triple, double - step F1 complex hybrids of Salvia sclarea L. were studied. Hybrid genotypes have valuable quantitative characteristics, many of them forming long(50 – 62 cm), compact inflorescences, with a large number of first – order (12 – 15) and second – (15 – 26) branches, vertices and flower, which also results in high inflorescence yields. 13 exceptional hybrids of the most important characteres were selected, identified; they synthesize and accumulate 1,346 – 2,286 % (dry matter) essential oil.Item Interspecific rhizogene grapevine varieties for ecological viticulture(CEP USM, 2024-10-07) Gladei, MihaiFollowing the increasingly pronounced climate changes that have taken place in recent years, there is an acute need to revive the traditional grapevine assortment in order to reduce the influence of harmful phenomenas on grapevine harvests and ensure their stable production in conditions of frequent climate disruptions. Due to the reduced genetic plasticity of Vitis vinifera grapevine species, there is an urgent need of revitalizing the viticultural assortment with new genotypes whose main characteristics are high adaptability to abiotic environmental factors but also resistance and tolerability to some pathogens and pests specific to grapevines.Item THE IMPROVEMENT OF VITICULTURAL ASSORTMENT WITH HIGH-YIELD INTERSPECIFIC GENOTYPES BASED ON MUSCADINIA ROTUNDIFOLIA MICHX(CEP USM, 2023) Gladei, MihaiIn the last decades the frequency of natural disrupting phenomenas amplifies at global level. This affects the normal development of grapevine plants and the quantity and quality of harvest. The existing grapevine varieties of Vitis Vinifera cannot totally assure a good and qualitative yield in climate change conditions. A different approach to assure this needs, are the interspecific hybrids with Muscadinia Rotundifolia Michx. The interspecific hybrids have a high genetical plasticity and adaptability to climate factors. This hybrids can be grown from cuttings avoiding all the expensive grafting process due to their tolerancy to the main grapevine pest Phyloxera Vastatrix.
