DIMENSIUNEA PRAGMATICĂ A TERMINOLOGIEI DIN DOMENIUL ARHITECTURII ÎN BAZA ROMANULUI ÎNGERI ȘI DEMONI DE DAN BROWN

Abstract

Acest articol reprezintă un studiu al aspectelor semantico-pragmatice a terminologiei din domeniul arhitecturii în baza romanului Îngeri și demoni de Dan Brown. Terminologia din domeniul arhitecturii care predomină în lexicul romanului, reprezintă o dificultate în procesul de comprehensiune, de receptare a mesjului și de traducere. Prin urmare, atât cititorul, cât și traducătorul se confruntă cu un număr mare de termeni specializați pe care, în anumite situații, nu îi pot decoda și traduce corect. Unii termeni din domeniul arhitecturii sunt utilizați de către autor în scopuri stilistice pentru a crea o imagine artistică deosebită. Menționăm, astfel, rolul contextului care poate dezambiguiza mesajul dar și competențele lingvistice, disciplinare ale cititorului, traducătorului în receptarea și comprehensiunea mesajului. Decodarea termenilor constituie o necesitate a comunicării atât la nivel intralingual cât și interlingual.This article studies the semantic-pragmatic aspects of architectural terminology based on the novel “Angels and Demons” by Dan Brown. The terminology in the field of architecture is predominant in the lexicon of the novel and represents a difficulty in the process of comprehension, message reception and translation. Therefore, both the reader and the translator encounter a large number of specialised terms that, in some situations, cannot be decoded and translated correctly. Some architectural terms are used by the author for stylistic purposes to create a particular artistic image. It is worth mentioning the role of the context which can disambiguate the message but also the linguistic, disciplinary skills of the reader and the translator in receiving and understanding the message. Decoding terms is a necessity for communication at both intralinguistic and interlingual levels.
