dc.description
The word “dor” is a purely Romanian word that can hardly be translated into other languages. Especially when this concept in folklore or cultured poetry takes on so many meanings: longing for mother, home, country, country, dear woman, freedom, but also mourning, and sorrow, and sadness, etc. In Eminescu’s poetry “dor” is one of the key words and it is very difficult for translators of the poet’s poetry into Russian to find plausible equivalents for this word. What are the translators’ versions, how is this word interpreted in Russian - these are the author’s concerns in this article.en
