| dc.description.abstract | The translation of artistic works, especially poetry, has always caused many difficulties and even contradictions. The difficulties are of different nature: factual, cultural, semantic, syntactic, expressive, etc. Contradictory are the ways of translating the poetic work, that eternal dilemma of the translator: accuracy or expressiveness, truth or metaphor, precision or beauty? In the present commentary we are going to analyse how a work by Alexei Mateevici is translated into a Russian poetic, but also civic version, of undeniable importance for our people, the poem “Our Language” by Alexei Mateevici in Russian. | en |
