Abstract
The shift from the information society to the knowledge society implies the development of professional competences specific to the specialized library staff. The scientific aspect of the article is based on continuous professional training that contributes at deepening and updating knowledge, developing skills, abilities and attitudes in line with functional obligations, assimilating new knowledge and attitudes conditioned by changes in the libraries' field.
