Abstract

The article represents a thorough analysis and description of old and modern methods of teaching phonetics of fo-reign languages. The ways of teaching phonetics are various in different methods – such as imitation (the direct method), imitation and rational learning (the mixed methods), the use of techinical means (the new direct method), dialogue and model study (the audiolingual method), etc.
