CONCEPTUALIZAREA TIPICĂ A RUȘINII ÎN LIMBA ENGLEZĂ ȘI ÎN CULTURA ANGLOFONĂ

Abstract

În studiile consacrate conceptelor emotive, la nivel psihologic și sociolingvistic, deseori se pune în evidență că lumea anglofonă reprezintă o cultură de tip „vinovăție”, spre deosebire de culturile de tip „rușine”, precum cele colectiviste. Această ipoteză propusă de savanții notorii care au studiat conceptele sociale emotive a servit ca un imbold pentru elaborarea studiului de față. În cadrul acestuia am determinat diferențele dintre culturile de tip individualist, orientate spre vinovăție și cele de tip colectivist, orientate spre rușine. Mai mut, ne am axat pe evaluarea conceptului cultural specifical lumii anglofone, precum „embrrassment” (jena, dar și alte sensuri în limba română), și am determinat contextele culturalespecifice și scenariile cognitiv-prototipice în care apare lexemul care denumește acest concept și echivalenții acestuia în română, ce se dovedesc a fi lexical și semantic mai variați.Cu acest scop analizăm contexte preluate din baza de date British National Corpora, care conține exemple selectate din literatura artistică engleză.In the psychological and socio-linguistic studies devoted to emotion concepts it is often emphasized that the Anglo-Saxon world is a “guilt oriented” culture in comparison with the “shame oriented” collectivistic types of culture. The hypothesis suggested by outstanding researchers who have studied the social emotive concepts made us conduct the given study. In the study we have determined the differences between the individualistic type of culture oriented towards the guilt concept and those of the collectivistic type of culture directed towards shame. More than that, we have focused on the evolution of the culturally specific concept of the Anglo -Saxon world which is “embarrassment” and have determined the cultural contexts and the cognitive scenarios in which “embarrassment” as a lexeme expresses the given concept. We have translated the utterances into Romanian and found out equivalents with a narrower semantic meaning. In order to conduct the research we have used contexts taken from the British National Corpora, which is a database of examples collected from English fiction.
