Abstract
Currently, the publishing-printing process is seen as a combination of editorial and technical means for the production of printed products: books, newspapers, magazines, etc. Given that any national language reflects the wisdom and life experience of the nation, the specialized language of science, technology and production conveys the knowledge and experience of all mankind. In connection with the intensive development of printing production and the computerization of most processes, the number of specialized terms is increasing.
The established terminology does not interfere with mutual understanding of professionals, but the introduction of new terms into the general language creates certain difficulties in communication. A large number of new concepts and technical terms appear in printing, many old ones undergo various changes, which makes it possible to most fully and clearly trace the trends of modern development, the ways of forming new terminological units and the laws of language nomenclature on the material of English terminology of printing production.
Therefore, the morphological method of term formation, which includes affixation, compounding, conversion, abbreviation and interlingual borrowings, is used in all thematic groups of the terminological system of the publishing and printing industry, and is productive even at the current stage of terminology development.
