Abstract

This study presents an analysis of phenotypic variability in several quantitative traits of sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) genotypes from early and medium-early maturity groups, cultivated under the pedoclimatic conditions of the Institute of Genetics, Physiology and Plant Protection (IGPPP) during the period 2019–2021. The research included the evaluation of 9 early-maturing varieties and one early line, as well as 13 medium-early varieties from the sesame collection. Based on multivariate analysis and cluster classification, groups of genotypes with high agronomic potential were identified: L1, Donskoi belosemianyi, and Cumhuriyet 99 from the early group, and Kubanets 55 from the medium-early group. These genotypes stood out for their superior adaptability to diverse hydrothermal conditions and for their relevant phenotypic variability, making them valuable for breeding and crop improvement programs.
