Abstract

This article examines the main changes introduced by Law no. 136/2024 in Chapter XIII – “Crimes against Public Security and Public Order” – of the special part of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Moldova. The analysis focuses on the quality of the amendments and the potential challenges and advantages affecting the interpretation and application of the revised penal norms. Historical, logical, and systemic methods were applied. The findings indicate that while some amendments comply with criminal law’s quality standards,others do not. Therefore, legislative intervention is vital to correct these shortcomings and ensure that the criminal law is interpreted in accordance with the principle of legality.
