Abstract

The war in Ukraine has generated a massive flow of refugees and the Republic of Moldova, as a neighboring state, has become both a transit point and destination for thousands of individuals seeking protection. This article examines the interaction between illegal border crossings and the right to asylum, focusing on the national and international legal frameworks,as well as the institutional challenges faced by Moldovan authorities.
