Abstract

Correlation between parliament and democracy is classical. It has been proven not only by early parliamentarism, related to limiting the monarch’s omnipotence, as well as by subsequent developments, especially regarding the generalization of universal suffrage, and the historical experience of the last century, when the collapse of totalitarian or authoritarian regimes was always followed by a return to parliamentarism and political system within which Parliament has an important role.
