Abstract
Dialogul de față se poartă în jurul numelui Alexandru Bernardazzi, celebrat în anul
curent, cu ocazia celor 190 ani de la naşterea sa. Scopul convorbirii constă în valorificarea contribuției
arhitectului Bernardazzi la estetica oraşului Chişinău. Activând în calitate de arhitect-şef al oraşului
Chişinău între anii 1856–1878, descendentul dinastiei Bernardrazzi a reuşit să înscrie armonios capitala
Basarabiei de atunci în contextul estetic, arhitectural şi cultural din Europa, dar şi din Imperiul Rus.
Alexandru Bernardazzi încheie pleiada arhitecților basarabeni din prima jumătate a secolului al XIX-
lea, numele lui reprezintă începutul unei alte perioade cu adevărat noi în arhitectura din Basarabia.
Chişinăul secolului al XIX-lea a obținut însuşirea de „oraş european” datorită eforturilor creative
ale acestui arhitect talentat. Alexandru Bernardazzi s-a făcut cunoscut prin crearea unor construcții
arhitecturale în mai multe oraşe, precum Odessa, Fastiv, Varşovia, dar şi în câteva localități rurale.
The dialogue is held around the personality of Alexander Bernardazi, celebrated this year on the occasion of the 190th anniversary of his birth. The purpose of the conversation is to capitalize on the contribution of the architect Bernardazzi to the aesthetics of Chisinau. Activating as chief architect of the town of Chisinau between 1856–1878, the descendant of the Bernardrazzi dynasty managed to harmoniously inscribe the capital of Bessarabia at that time in the aesthetic, architectural and cultural context of Europe, but also of the Russian Empire. Alexander Bernardazzi concludes the list of Bessarabian architects from the first half of the 19th century, his name represents the beginning of another truly new period in Bessarabian architecture. Nineteenth-century Chisinau gained the status of “European town” thanks to the creative efforts of this talented architect. Alexander Bernardazzi became known by creating architectural constructions in several cities, such as Odessa, Fastiv, Warsaw, but also in several rural settlements in Bessarabia.
