SEMIOTICA GASTRONOMICĂ ÎN OPERA LUI ITALO CALVINO

Abstract

Interferenţa spaţiului literar şi a culturii gastronomice a început să prezinte un interes din ce în ce mai accentuat, bucurându-se în ultima vreme de atenţia criticii literare prin recunoaşterea faptului că bucătăria reprezintă un limbaj ce reflectă în mod semnificativ factorii identitari ai unei societăţi. Atenția sporită poate fi explicată prin rolul gastronimicului în textul literar, care constă în completarea cu informaţii suplimentare, oferind indicii preţioase, deschizând, în unele situaţii, noi piste de interpretate a textului. În acest an se împlinesc o sută de ani de la nașterea scriitorului italian al secolului douăzeci, Italo Calvino. Cu acest prilej am dorit să-i aducem un omagiu marelui prozator, analizându-i opera dintr-o perspectivă dublă. Pe de o parte vom analiza tradiția culinară în scrierile lui Calvino, subiectul fiind tratat din perspectivă biografică, vizând evenimente şi consemnări din viaţa autorului, mărturii care se regăsesc chiar în operele studiate, pe de altă parte vom interpreta simbolurile gastronomice specifice stilului fantastico-realist al lui Calvino care sugerează noi piste pentru tălmăcirea operei deschise a autorului.The interference of literary space and gastronomic culture has begun to be of increasing interest, enjoying the attention of literary criticism lately by recognizing that cuisine represents a language that significantly reflects the identity factors of a society. The increased attention can be explained by the role of gastronymic in the literary text, which consists in complementing with additional information, providing valuable clues, opening, in some situations, new tracks to interpret the text. This year marks one hundred years since the birth of the Italian writer of the twentieth century, Italo Calvino. On this occasion, we wanted to pay tribute to the great prose writer, analyzing his work from a double perspective. On the one hand, we will analyze the culinary tradition in Calvino’s writings, the subject being treated from a biographical perspective, aiming at events and recordings from the author’s life, testimonies that can be found even in the studied works, on the other hand, we will interpret the gastronomic symbols specific to Calvino’s fantastic-realistic style that suggests new tracks for interpreting the author’s open work.
