Abstract

This summary is to highlight one of the fundamental principles in international law that of universality principle, according to it, is the aiming of holding accountable the persons responsible for committing international crimes. Although it is considered to be an effective and essential tool for international justice, this principle does not have a uniform definition. In this sense, we highlight the imperative of applying this principle, taking into account the fact that each state has the interest to exercise its jurisdiction to combat the most serious acts.
