    After the analysis of several sources written in ancient times, the author of the article tries to prove that several names of the titles carried by the leaders of some Slavic and Romanian states from medieval and modern period, țar, vodă, voievod and other names, including boyar, sturdy, soldier, are of Romanian origin, but not Slavic origin.

    TERMINOLOGIA MEDICINEI DENTARE: PROCEDEE DE FORMARE A TERMENILOR

    Dentistry is a rather new branch of medical science. It is constantly evolving and changing to best suit a patient’s needs. New technologies, methods and approaches to teeth treatment and prosthetics impose numerous challenges to generating new terminology. This paper focuses on the development of dental care terminology, analysing the issue of term formation patterns and the main categories of terms. The striking number of complex terminological units allows us to conclude that the process of syntagmatic composition is notably productive in the terminology of this medical field.

    THE CRITERIA FOR NEOLOGISM FILTRATION AND ACCEPTANCE

    The initial step of the lexical enrichment is the practice, the human life, as it is influenced by the scientific, economic, political, cultural, and social spheres of the human activity. The process of neologisms generation, filtration, and acceptance is very complicated. A. Rey considers that neologisms must be accepted as functional and pragmatic lexical novelties and the concept can only depend on a collective judgment, otherwise they become neological phantasms. Psychological and sociological factors are the limiters that determine the lexical norm and guarantee the efficacy of communication.

    DEFINIREA CONCEPTULUI DE COMPETENȚĂ DE COMUNICARE PROFESIONALĂ

    The present study is an attempt to define the term competence from different perspectives. It is undoubtedly attributed three components: knowledge, skills and attitudes; the attitudes are attributed the leading role of directing, bringing arguments and achieving a result; knowledge and abilities complete the competence.The need to develop students’ communicative competence increases with the ideas found in pedagogical researches, which state that the human personality can be professionally formed only in the process of communication. The communication competence includes people’s abilities of communication acquired during their lives and supposes abilities to communicate, transmit, exchange opinions in different circumstances in the process of interaction with other people, applying the system of language and speech standards. The competence to communicate in a language specific to the speciality involves the competence of professional communication and includes, in addition to the components of communication, knowledge competence in the field.

    REPERE ALE FILOSOFIEI EXISTENȚIALISTE ÎN LITERATURA ENGLEZĂ ȘI GERMANĂ DE LA MIJLOCUL SECOLULUI XX

    The article aims to investigate interpretations of existentialist theme (including: the absurd as metaphysical status of man in the world, the alienation, the revolt as a position assumed by the person who has discovered the absurd, the conception of freedom, the „other one’s” identity, the importance of choice, the situation-limit, the responsibility etc.) in the English and German literature of the second half of the twentieth century. This choice is motivated by the fact that unlike the existentialist philosophy manifestations in the French literature, that have enjoyed the literary criticism increased interest, the English and German literature ones still offer a vast space of research. Authorial corpus: F. Kafka, A. Camus, W. Golding, I. Murdoch, M. Walser, A. Andersch, H. E. Nossack etc.

    TEACHING COLLOQUIAL ENGLISH DIALOGUES WITH HESITATION WORDS, LINKS AND FEEDBACK

    Cursanții care studiază engleza americană contemporană ca o limbă străină pentru a înțelege şi a produce un dialog spontan au nevoie de a exersa şi înțelege funcțiile cuvintelor de ezitare într-un dialog spontan neformal. Însuşirea polisemiei lexicale şi a varietății funcțiilor sintactice şi semantice a cuvintelor şi expresiilor de ezitare sunt absolut necesare pentru menținerea stilului de vorbire orală dialogată cotidiană în cadrul unui dialog colocvial.

    ТРАНСФОРМАЦИЯ ЖАНРА РОМАНА В ПРЕДЕЛАХ БРИТАНСКОГО РОМАНТИЗМА: К ПРОБЛЕМЕ ЭВОЛЮЦИИ ПРОСТРАНСТВЕННО- ВРЕМЕННОЙ СТРУКТУРЫ В ЭПОСЕ

    The article explores the contribution of British Romanticism to the evolution of the novel as a genre. The fate of the English novel is traced from the era of Pre-Romanticism to the established romantic aesthetics. The typological aspects of the Gothic and historical novel are dissociated, and their comparative characteristics are given. Particular attention is paid to the contribution of the British romantics in the formation of the genre of psychological novel and its gender aspects. While studying the typological aspects of the English romantic novel, it becomes apparent that the typology of the novel is closely related to the evolution of the spatiotemporal structure of the narrative.

    The role that the highly skilled emigrants or Diasporas play in scientific and technological developments in the country of origin is still poorly understood and studied, although it is extremely important, due to the importance of science and technology for improving the human condition and economic development. The migration of highly skilled people between countries with different levels of development has long been a critical issue and an unsolved problem. The world knowledge gap highlights the need to find alternative ways to circumvent the exodus of scientists and skilled professionals by promoting the potential of scientific Diasporas to contribute to the development of their countries of origin. The benefits that highly skilled emigrants can bring to their home countries are increasingly regarded as important for development.

    ZU DEN MISSVERSTÄNDNISSEN IN DER INTERKULTURELLEN KOMMUNIKATION

    The world today is characterized by an ever growing number of contacts resulting in communication between people with different linguistic and cultural backgrounds. This communication takes place because of contacts within the areas of business, military cooperation, science, education, mass-media, entertainment, tourism but also because of immigration brought about by labor shortage or political conflicts. In all these contacts, there is communication which needs to be as constructive as possible, without misunderstandings and breakdowns. It is our belief that research on the nature of linguistic and cultural similarities and differences here can play a positive and constructive role.

    ASPECTUL PRAGMATIC AL PRODUCERII SCRISE ÎN PREDAREA/ÎNVĂȚAREA LIMBII STRĂINE

    Abordarea comunicativă în învățarea unei limbi străine pune accent pe aspectul pragmatic al producerii scrise. Producerea scrisă nu mai este ca și în metodologiile tradiționale, forma suverană a limbajului, nici ca în metodologiile audio-vizualului, subordonată înțelegerii orale. Producerea scrisă devine un act de comunicare funcțională, care permite studentului să se exprime și să comunice cu ajutorul unui sistem de semne specifice, adică semnele grafice. Actul scrierii se înscrie într-o situație de comunicare particulară, folosind structuri lingvistice și realizînd intenția de comunicare. Aspectul socio- cultural al comunicării scrise precum și aspectul individual și afectiv al scriptorului prezintă de asemenea mize importante în crearea de texte scrise. Competența de producere scrisă rămîne a fi o competență de limbaj delicată în predare, la fel și în învățare.
