The fate of the English novel is traced from the era of Pre-Romanticism to the established romantic aesthetics. The typological aspects of the Gothic and historical novel are dissociated, and their comparative characteristics are given. Particular attention is paid to the contribution of the British romantics in the formation of the genre of psychological novel and its gender aspects. Opoziția celor două tipuri de toposul determină conținutul ideologic al romanului. Dualismul conștiinței romantice este revelat prin tradiționala pentru romantismul antiteza de munți și văi, accentuate cu metafore luminoase. Imaginea în "La răscruce de vînturi " determină nu numai conceptul ideologic, ci și artistic al romanului, fiind o dominant semantică și artistică. In the prose of the Serbian poet and prose writer, the author of one of the most daring experiments of postmodern literature - the novel of hypertext the cult "Khazar Dictionary", the organization of the artistic space has a key conceptual meaning that determines and simulates the semantic field of the work.
