The significance of any language unit is determined
by its paradigmatic and syntagmatic relations, more
recent research demonstrates that it must also be
addressed from an epidigmatic perspective, following
its semantic or formal link with other elements of the
system . Derivative analysis favors the full description
of the semantics of behavioral verbs in Romanian, because they are formed both by creating a new lex, and
by adapting the original lex to express a new reality.
