This article highlights the isotopies-philosophemes which constitute the ideal sphere of
the concerns of philosophers/intellectuals. The author examines the antinomy of
committed philosopher-free-thinking philosopher as a structural axis in the construction
of social mentalities. The driving idea of the article is the primordiality of the heritage of
spiritual values over the materiality and transience of trivial things. The author laments
the poverty of spirit in countries where there has been almost no philosophical tradition
and, moreover, the Soviet regime has swept away all identity consciousness.
