The present article focuses on the cultural specificity of the concept of “dream”
seen as ambition in the English and Romanian Linguistic Pictures. We will
analyze the cognitive process that takes place when using various phraseological
units by identifying both common and different aspects in the above mentioned
languages. The method applied will be the cognitive prototypical scenario which
is specific to cognitive linguistics.
