The structure of the complex Cu(Im)(L 1) [H2L1 = 2-(2-hydroxybenzylideneamino)acetic acid] was determined by X-ray analysis. The crystalline structure of [2-(2-hydroxybenzylideneamino)acetato](imidazole)copper is formed by polymeric chains of the Cu(Im)(L1) molecules linked through bridging oxygen atoms in the carboxy groups of the Schiff base ligand. The coordination unit has a distorted tetragonal pyramid configuration, where the pyramid base is composed of the phenol and carboxy oxygen atoms, CH=N nitrogen atom in the ligand H2L1 and imidazole nitrogen atom. The oxygen atom in the carboxy group in the neighboring molecule occupies the apical position of the coordination pyramid. The other coordination compounds also have polynuclear structure with the Schiff base H2L acting as doubly deprotonated tridentate O,N,O-ligand and bridging carboxy groups. Thermal decomposition of the complexes includes their dehydration (70-95 C), while complete thermal decomposition occurs at 360-530 C. The synthesized complexes showed selective antimicrobial activity in the concentration range from 75 to 300 μg/ml against a number of standard strains of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli.Item Coordination compounds of copper with 2-formylpyridine 4-(dimethylphenyl) thiosemicarbazones [Articol](2012) Gulea, Aurelian; Lozan-Tîrșu, Carolina; Țapcov, Victor; Corja, Ion; Rudic, Valeriu2-Formylpyridine 4-(2,6-dimethylphenyl)-(HL1), 4-(2,5-dimethylphenyl)-(HL2), 4-(3,4-dimethylphenyl)-(HL 3), and 4-(2,4-dimethylphenyl)thiosemicarbazones (HL4) react with copper chloride and nitrate to form coordination compounds CuL 1-4X·nH2O [X = Cl-, NO3 -; n = 1, 2]. All compounds have a polynuclear structure. Azomethines HL1-4 act as the bridging monodeprotonated tridentate N,N,S-ligands. The thermolysis of the complexes includes the dehydration (70-90 C) and total thermal decomposition (350-520 C). The complexes synthesized exhibit a selective antimicrobial activity against a series of standard strains of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli in the concentration range of 0.009-37.5 μg ml-1Item Synthesis, Structure, and Biological Activity of Copper(II), Nickel(II), Cobalt(III), and Iron(III) Coordination Compounds with 2-{2-[(Prop-2-en-1-yl)carbamothioyl]hydrazinylidene}propanoic Acid [Articol](2020) Gulea, Aurelian; Graur, Vasilii; Diurici, E.; Ulchina, Ianina; Bouroș, Pavlina; Balan, Greta; Burduniuc, Olga; Țapcov, Victor; Rudic, Valeriu2-Oxopropanoic acid reacts in ethanol with N-(prop-2-en-1-yl)hydrazinecarbothioamide in a 1 : 1 mole ratio to form thiosemicarbazone H2L. Coordination compounds Cu(HL)X [X = Cl–, Br–, NO3–], Cu(H2O)(L), Ni(HL)2, Co(HL)2X [X = Cl–, Br–], and Fe(HL)2X [X = NO3–, Br–] are formed in the reactions of H2L with copper(II), nickel(II), cobalt(II), and iron(III) salts. The reactions of Cu(H2O)(L) with imidazole (Im) and 3,4-dimethylpyridine (3,4-Lut) result in mixed-ligand complexes Cu(A)(L) [A = Im, 3,4-Lut]. The structures of two copper complexes were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The synthesized complexes exhibit selective antimicrobial and antifungal activity in the concentration range of 15.62–1000 μg/mL. The introduction of amines into the inner sphere of copper complexes leads to an increase in the antimicrobial activity.Item Synthesis, Structure and Biological Activity of Coordination Compounds of Copper, Nickel, Cobalt, and Iron with Ethyl N'-(2-Hydroxybenzylidene)-N-prop-2-en-1-ylcarbamohydrazonothioate [Articol](2020) Gulea, Aurelian; Usataia, Irina; Graur, Vasilii; Ciumacov, Iurie; Petrenko, Peter; Balan, Greta; Burduniuc, Olga; Țapcov, Victor; Rudic, ValeriuN-(Prop-2-en-1-yl)hydrazonocarbothioamide reacts with iodoethane in methanol with further addition of 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde to form hydroiodide of carbamohydrazonothioate (HL·HI). The survey was conducted on a sample of 301 white laboratory rats of both sexes, which were divided depending on their stage of postnatal ontogenetic development and experimental model: control; animal with experimental osteopathy (EO); animals with EO+CMT-28 1 mg/kg body weight; animals with EO+CMT-67 1 mg/kg body weight; animals with EO+BioR 1mg/kg body weight; animals with EO+BioR 2 mg/kg body weight; animals with EO+CMT-28+BioR (1 mg/kg body weight each); animals with EO+BioR+CMT-67 (1 mg/kg body weight each). In physiological conditions the ontogenetic modifications of the bone collagen and HYP content are statistically conclusive and of the same orientation, the maximum concentration was identified in adult animals and the minimum at advanced stages of postnatal ontogenesis regardless of sex. Experimental osteopathy is characterized by age and sex dependent changes of the collagen and hydroxyproline concentrations in bone, the most significant changes being revealed in young females. Copper coordination compounds, BioR and their combinations increase the turnover of the collagen in bone in EO that is accompanied by decrease of collagen and increase of the HYP concentration that is probably a compensatory mechanism oriented to the replacement of the damaged collagen and the restoration of its normal nanostructure with the recovery of the bone.Item New nutritive supplements for feeding mellifera bees in the deficit periods of collection in nature [Articol](2017) Toderaș, Ion; Cebotari, Valentina; Ungureanu, Laurenția; Buzu, Ion; Gheorghiță, Cristina; Floquet, Sebastien; Gulea, Aurelian; Rudic, Valeriu; Fuior, ArcadieThe purpose of this paper was to test the bees feeding of aquatic microalgae biomass like Scenedesmus quadricauda, Scenedesmus Apiculatus Hortob, Oocystis borgei Snow, and elaboration of feeding procedures of bee families during the deficit harvesting periods in nature, the end of winter and early spring (February - March). The research was carried out on Apis mellifera Carpatica bee families at the experimental apiary of the Institute of Zoology of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova. At the end of February, 5 similar batches of bees were formed, with 13-15 families in each batch. Each bee family was given once, 200g in a 7:3 ratio of mixture of sugar powder with honey, the consistency of a dense gelatinous paste in disk form, a disk at each bee frame. In batch I (witness), the bees received only the nutritive paste made of sugar powder + honey; In batch II the bees received nutrient paste enriched with the nutritional supplement known as Apispir in quantity of 2 ml of solution by 10% (200 mg active substance) per 1 kg of paste; In batches III, IV and V, the bees received the food nutritive paste, enriched with the biomass of aquatic microalgae, respectively: Scenedesmus quadricauda, Scenedesmus apiculatus and Oocystis borgei Snow, in quantity of 10 ml of suspension by 2.0% concentration (200 mg dry substance) to 1 kg of paste. At 100 days from the date of feeding the bees with nutritive paste (which coincided with the first collection), at each family in the experimental batches, individually, was evaluated: the queen prolificacy, the capped brood quantity, the strength of the family, the resistance to diseases, the viability of the brood, the quantity of wax increased on the combs, the quantity of pasture and honey accumulated in the nest. The results of the research have demonstrated that feeding bee families during deficit periods of harvesting in nature with a 7: 3 ratio sugar-powder + honey, nutritional mixture, enriched with biologically active supplements from Scenedesmus quadricauda, Scenedesmus apiculatus and Oocystis borgei Snow contributes to the increase, compared to the control batch: of the prolificacy of the queens by 7.8-10.3% (td = 3.5-5.2; P <0.01-0.001); the quantity of brood - by 7.7-9.3% (td = 3.4-4.7; P <0.01-0.001); the strength of the bee family - by 7.1-9.3% (td = 3.0-3.5, P <0.01); resistance of families to diseases - by 1.8-3.8% (td = 1.6-3.6; P <0.1-0.01); viability of brood - by 1.2-1.7% (td = 2.2-2.9; P <0.05-0.01); wax production increased by 13.3-36.7% (td = 2.9-6.4; P <0.01-0.001); the quantity of bee bread accumulated in the nest - by 15.527.6% (td = 3.4- 8.4, P <0.01-0.001); the quantity of honey accumulated in the nest at the first harvest - by 28.0-38.9% (td = 7.2-9.9, P <0.001). On the basis of the researches have elaboration, new procedures of feeding bee families during the deficit periods of harvesting in the nature and obtained patents of invention (MD 1061 Y 2016.08.31, MD 1079 Y 2016.08.31, MD 1079 Y 2016.10.31).Item Rolul tratamentului imunomodulator cu bior în tratamentul complex al cancerului cervical local-avansat [Articol](2015) Guțu, Lilian; Sofroni, Dumitru; Sameț, Nina; Roșca, Sergiu; Casian, Neonila; Ciobanu, Veronica; Balan, Roman; Tripac-Iacovleva, Irina; Ureche, Virgil; Stratan, Valentina; Rudic, Valeriu; Gulea, Aurelian; Cardaniuc, Corina; Ancuța, Eugen; Anton, EmilThe treatment of locally advanced cervical cancer requires mandatory administration of chemotherapy concomitantly with radiotherapy.
