FRANÇOIS RABELAIS: GASTRONOMIA ÎN SERVICIUL LITERATURII

Abstract

François Rabelais, marele umanist francez, a fost și rămâne a fi, în egală măsură, promotorul literaturii și al mâncării bune. În plus, el este catalogat, pe bună dreptate, și ca primul mare scriitor francez care a știut să pună gastronomia în serviciul literaturii. Rabelais este un deschizător de drumuri în toate domeniile și cea mai „comică” dintre enigmele literaturii franceze. Meritul său enorm este de a fi știut să combine o cultură gastronomică uluitoare cu un umor sincer și fără limite de interpretare. Cu toate că François Rabelais nu a fost inventatorul termenului de „gastronomie”, el este cel căruia îi datorăm, în mare parte, conceptul, ilustrat printr-o exuberanță de detalii în opera sa monumentală „Gargantua și Pantagruel”.François Rabelais, the great French humanist, has been and remains, in equal measure, the promoter of good literature and food. In addition, he is catalogued, rightly, as the first great French writer who has known how to place gastronomy at the service of literature. Rabelais is a pioneer in all fields and the most "comic" of the French literature enigmas. His enormous merit is that he has known how to combine a stunning gastronomic culture with a sincere and limitless sense of humor. Although François Rabelais has not been the inventor of the term "gastronomy", he is the one to whom we largely owe the concept, illustrated with an exuberance of details in his monumental work "Gargantua and Pantagruel".
