Abstract
Personal and professional training is required to increase the level of a person’s qualifications. Vocational training means any training process whereby an employee acquires a qualification, attested by a certificate or diploma issued in accordance with the law. It must meet certain conditions: it must be planned in advance; it must be financed; and its main objective must be to improve knowledge. Employers may also organize courses in their own establishments or in institutions specialized in vocational training; courses and programmes for upgrading or retraining; internships and specialization in establishments in the country or abroad; seminars, conferences, round tables, workshops. In the choice and use of different forms of vocational training, a number of factors need to be taken into account, namely: there must be a clear relationship between what is learned and what needs to be applied in practice.
