dc.description.abstractThe management of intellectual property rights and technology transfer at universities is important in the light of present globalization and liberalization of economies all around the world. The importance of the study resides in the fact that a university’s activity is especially dedicated to creating and spreading knowledge. Adding value to the University’s research results can be achieved by an adequate intellectual property management and an appropriate mechanism of technology transfer. The research subject has a direct impact on the development within the university of a viable and lasting intellectual property culture, of a technology transfer mechanism that would identify straightforward method of IPO utilization, while respecting the rights of all parties involved: the Government, the University, researchers, third parties, etc.; moreover, creating the Technology Transfer Office would stimulate the entrepreneurial spirit of academics.en
