Abstract
The article under consideration is to investigate the creation and spread of newly coined words,
phrases or familiar words used in a new sense in the “Fourth Estate” or the digital media
and analyse their word formation process. The digital media contributes to creating favourable
conditions for the boost of neologisms which react to the changes that take place in every society
and explain the emergence of new lexemes or give a modern touch to known words within the
digital ecosystem.
