dc.description.abstract | The efficient functioning of justice is an important element of the democratic society, and the establishment of an independent judicial system is an indicator of the state’s devotion to the aspirations of the society as a whole. Starting from this, a fundamental role, as a representative of the judiciary, the Superior Council of Magistrates, has the responsibility of ensuring professional and deontological standards that will strengthen authentic, homogeneous and sustainable professional elite. The Superior Council of Magistrates is assigned with the constitutional prerogative to be the guarantor of the independence of justice, the independence of justice is a supreme value of any rule of law, being the one that ensures the maintenance of the social balance and the suppression of the law. Protecting the judicial system from pressures, harms or interference is the essential premise of an independent justice, an objective justice act, based on the law and the social values protected by it, in response to the fundamental need of any democratic society: the need for social justice. | en |
