Abstract

To ensure the proper functioning of the monetary system and the securities market, it is necessary to develop effective measures to prevent and combat the manufacture or circulation of counterfeit money or securities. The analysis of offenses under Article 236 of the Penal Code of the Republic of Moldova can contribute to the deepening of the scientific discourse on their legal essence, based on the study of specialized literature, the analysis of national and international normative acts in the field, as well as judicial practice. In this sense, the relevance of conducting a systematic scientific study of the problems related to the qualification of acts based on Article 236 of the Penal Code of the Republic of Moldova and the interpretation of this article in the light of the principle of legality, as well as finding effective methods to overcome these problems, is evident.
