dc.description.abstractWith the global development of smart technologies in agriculture, a paradigm shift undergoes in the methods of agricultural operations. These processes are also relevant in Moldovan agriculture and are rapidly gaining momentum. The importance of data and information in our time is increasing due to advanced information technologies which allow fast and efficient data processing and transmission. In economic science, an increasing popularity is gaining the idea that information or data should be recognized as the fifth factor of production, along with land, labor, capital, and entrepreneurial spirit. With the cutting-edge information technologies, the development of wireless monitoring systems and remote management of agricultural operations become reality. Automations of agricultural processes gain increased demand due to economic, social, and climatic challenges. The adoption of such technologies is already producing effects and begins to impact the productivity and competitiveness of agricultural enterprises in different countries and have potential to become determinant in the future.en
