Rolul și atribuțiile șefului statului în domeniul protecției drepturilor economice

Abstract

This article outlines the role and powers of the head of state in the economic field and the protection of citizens’ economic rights. Under this aspect, a distinction is made between the national economy and external economic activity, both concepts having a separate regulation in the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova. At the same time, it starts from the finding that the Supreme Law does not give the head of state express powers in the economic field. However, in the context of the exercise of the constitutional powers of the head of state, certain repercussions may occur in the economic field. This statement is reinforced in this article by referring to several examples, including from the jurisprudence of the Constitutional Court. Finally, it is concluded that we must not underestimate the role and powers of the head of state in the economic field
