Abstract

It is considered that migration, when it is illegal, can have a significant negative impact on national security, and the response of the affected state or states must be dedicated and immediate.The effects of the migration phenomenon are different, and if we talk about those that threaten national security, we can mention the increase in crime through the export of insecurity from the countries where migrants come from, as well as various crimes actually related to the organization of illegal migration, such as human trafficking, drugs, weapons, etc.As for the Republic of Moldova, migration, especially that which is illegal and uncontrolled,puts enormous pressure on the capacities and availability of any state. In the case of our country, which has modest resources to manage this phenomenon, the situation can become even more dramatic.Awareness of vulnerabilities is a first step, the subsequent, fixing and framing of the phenomenon and the response that the state is going to have on it in public policy documents, constitutes the next step. After that comes the empowerment of the competent authorities with the necessary resources, equipment, development of the necessary operating procedures, training of personnel and others.
