Abstract

The epistolary style/genre stands out from other functional styles; many researchers don’t even include it in their classifications. Undoubtedly, several aspects characterize this type of language, anchored somehow at the intersection of novel communicational processes. The new forms and meanings of the epistolary style are interesting from the perspective of online communication, digital orality, etc., maintaining or revising its traditional aspect. Although many researchers, as mentioned before, omit it from their typologies, we believe that it retains its relevance and importance through its reappraisal and reconceptualization.
