Abstract

This study refers to freedom of opinion and expression as one of the noblest fundamental human rights. The crucial importance of this right for the development of the individual’s personality, dignity and self-affirmation is argued. Based on the provisions of international law, some aspects of freedom of opinion and expression are identified. The content of the right to freedom of expression is described, including the conditions for restricting it. Finally, some recommendations are formulated regarding the harmonization of the national legislation of the Republic of Moldova in accordance with the international standards as one of the conditions for the entry of our state in the civilized world community.
