The study is based on the observation of intertextual traces in a number of novels signed by Frédéric Beigbeder and their translation into Romanian. It turns out that their large amount makes the translator’s job very difficult. He has to demonstrate several skills. First, the spirit of observation to detect their explicit and implicit presence. Secondly, the taming of the culture of the Other to decode them. Thirdly, the reconstruction of the patchwork of links to restore most of the intertextual traces of the original text. The perception of polyphonic intertextual weaving poses problems. This awareness on the part of the translator is followed by the application of certain techniques: borrowing, explicitation, adaptation, omission, etc. This research highlights them while pointing out their strengths and weaknesses.en
