Educația pentru inovație ca factor al prosperității economice [Articol]

Abstract

The acceleration of transformations across all economic sectors requires the identification of innovative solutions capable of supporting prosperity and competitiveness. In the case of the Republic of Moldova, the analysis of the Global Innovation Index reveals a significant decline during the period 2019–2023, which calls for urgent measures to strengthen the innovation ecosystem. The main objective of this research is to highlight the role of universities in developing human capital with the appropriate competencies to drive change in the workplace. To achieve this objective, the following research methods were employed: bibliographic study, opinion survey, documentary analysis, induction, deduction, and comparative analysis. The results confirm the essential role of education in generating and applying innovations, as well as the need to expand the traditional functions of universities through the continuous updating of educational content based on international best practices and by strengthening partnerships with the business environment and public authorities. At the same time, the state is called upon to improve its innovation-stimulating policies by adopting the example of countries that have successfully implemented effective and efficient mechanisms to support innovative initiatives.
