PREZENTE SHAKESPEARIENE ÎN ULISE DE JAMES JOYCE

Abstract

The article aimed to identify Shakespearean presences in the novel Ulysses by James Joyce. Thus, there has been realized a parallel with the play Hamlet by William Shakespeare, identifying similarities between the characters, common motives, thematic and textual correspondences. There Hamlet have been mentioned various similarities with the Shakespearean protagonist, Shakespeare’s influence being particularly evident through this play. Thus, there were established a variety of connections between Shakespeare’s most famous play and Joyce’s most famous novel.
