| dc.description.abstract | Modal verbs are potentially polysemantic. Being among the verbs which make up the constructions with predicate actants, they can combine characteristics both of the dictum verbs and the verbs of propositional attitude. On the one hand, as dictum verbs they fix relations within the proposition between the syntactic subject and the predicate expressed by the infinitive. On the other hand, like the verbs of propositional attitude modal verbs can express the meaning of the modal frame of the sentence. | en |
