Abstract

Located on the border with the European Union, the Republic of Moldova has faced national security challenges since gaining independence. In recent years, however, these challenges have intensified and become more diverse: from external influence fueled by local political figures, to waves of narratives aimed at manipulating public opinion, vote-buying schemes, and cyber threats. These challenges have become more pronounced in the context of Russia's hybrid war in the region, internal political crises, and the country’s efforts to move closer to the European Union.
