The purpose of this paper is to develop a comprehensive and in-depth study on `detention` in terms of human rights. Thus, the emphasis is on the essence of coercion - detention being a procedural measure of coercion, its particularities and the direct impact of detention on human rights. At the same time, the objective of the study is first of all, the empirical research of the way of ensuring the norms that protect the rights of the suspects detained in the custody of the bodies empowered by law. Secondly, the objective is to develop recommendations on the legislative framework, policies and procedures to ensure effective compliance with European Union instruments, but also to analyze the priority rights of the detained person.en
