Abstract
The article analyzes the function of allusions in the artistic world of postmodernism, clarifies their place and role in the organization of intertext space, which determines the methodology of postmodernism.
The object for considering the function of literary allusion in the emerging literature of postmodernism is the prose of the English classic of literature of the 2nd half of the 20th century, J. Fowles.
