Perspective fenomenologice asupra ideii de prezență [Articol]

Abstract

In the present paper, I offer a reading of two classical passages about the idea of presence, in the context of the debates about the problematic character of the metaphysics of presence. The first one is an excerpt from Husserl on the givenness in flesh of the perceptual objects. The second one is a passage from Sartre on presence to self. Based on these experiential accounts of two basic forms of presence, which I flesh out, I argue that presence remains a fundamental dimension of experience, and that an account of presence can accommodate various forms of discussion about absence.
