Perspectiva fidelităţii în traducerile operei Herței Müller

Abstract

Cărțile Herței Müller se adresează prin specificitate unui public cititor destul de vast. Traducerile însă, limitează sfera înțelegerii, întrucât fie redau netraduse structuri din cultura germană, fie anulează vocea scriitoarei în favoarea talentului scriitoricesc al traducătoarei. Opera Hertei Müller se dovedește mult mai traductibilă pentru cititorul român decât pentru oricare alt cititor. Chiar și pentru germani, proza scriitoarei pune pe alocuri probleme, mai ales atunci când jonglează cu versuri din cântecele populare românești, când rostește blesteme de dragoste sau când înjură cu patos asemenea românilor bănățeni. Traducerile după operele scriitoarei germane tind să evite mijloacele de intensificare din textul-sursă și să exagereze trăsăturile limbii-țintă.

Herta Müller’s books are specifically addressed to a fairly wide readership. Translations, however, limit the scope of understanding, as they either reproduce untranslated structures from German culture, or cancel the writer›s voice in favour of the translator›s writing talent. Herta Müller’s work proves much more translatable for the Romanian reader than for any other reader. Even for Germans, the writer’s prose causes problems in some places, especially when she juggles lines from Romanian folk songs, when she utters love curses or when she curses with pathos like Romanians from Banat. The translations of the works of the German writer tend to avoid the means of intensification from the source text and exaggerate the features of the target language.
